Language Layer turns the assumption on its head. One live announcement goes out, and every person in the space receives it at the same moment, in their own language: English next to Spanish next to Mandarin next to American Sign Language next to Arabic, forty-six languages in total.

Attendees scan the code or open the link, choose from 46 languages including American Sign Language and Plain Language, and every announcement arrives in their language, simultaneously.

No leading AI lab can produce reliable sign language video yet. Deaf experts are ready to lead that work, and the industry has underengaged them.
Voices have gaps too. Apple and Google, whose operating systems run nearly every smartphone, have not built speech voices for languages such as Bengali, Somali, and Tamil. When a spoken announcement cannot be voiced, it arrives as captions with a note.
